Preventative Services
Full Dental Exams
Examination and Assessment
If it’s your first time visiting us, we will perform a full dental exam to assess your overall oral health and identify any areas that may require extra attention. Along with the exam, a hygienist will clean your teeth and evaluate treatment you have had done in the past and any treatment you may need to have completed. We will take any necessary X-rays to see between the teeth for decay, abscess, bone loss, and any other abnormalities.
During a full dental exam, we will take a look at:
- Medical history
- Overall oral health
- Every surface of your teeth and gums
- Tooth repair needs
- Stains on your teeth
- Dental X-rays
- Potential tooth decay
- Gum disease evaluation
- Existing tooth restorations (crowns, fillings, etc.)
Oral Cancer Screenings
Your dental exam will also include screening for oral cancer. One in ten people are not aware of the threat of oral cancer. It’s important to maintain regular cleanings twice a year so we can address any concerns with your oral health. Make sure to talk to us about any concerns before the exam.
