Digital X-Rays
Your Oral Health
During a full dental exam, your dentist will perform a dental x-ray. Dental X-rays are routine and only take a few minutes. If you’re a new patient, an x-ray is necessary to assess your current oral health and offer a comparison for later visits.
Intraoral x-rays are the most common and take images inside your mouth to check overall tooth health and development.
Dental x-rays are used to:
- Find cavities and tooth decay
- Assess bone damage
- See the status of growing teeth
- Find periodontal disease
- Examine your tooth roots and alignment
- Check for oral cancer
Providing an in-depth exam
X-rays allow dentists to assess your teeth more in depth compared to your physical dental exam. A yearly dental x-ray will ensure your mouth is growing properly and catch any signs of oral diseases early. If you have any tooth pain or symptoms of oral health issues, call us to schedule an appointment and dental x-ray.
